Giving Voice: First Circle Literary Magazine

Kailyn Shalosky is joined by "First Circle" literary magazine Head Editor Nathan Wehr and front-page artist Amelia Shaffstall, to discuss why providing a platform for students to express themselves through words and art is important. Nathan discusses his perspective as the Head Editor and queer man and how he worked to provide a safe space not only for his team but the entire campus. Amelia gives advice for other queer artists aspiring to be seen by something bigger and how being chosen as the front-page artist.

The 2024 edition of "First Circle" was released on April 18. This episode of Giving Voice was recorded on April 3 in WMCO's studios.

Host Kailyn Shalosky is a senior at Muskingum University. She is dedicated to bringing awareness to marginalized organizations on campus, making sure they have a platform to be heard on. “Giving Voice” is a monthly show that will feature a different club or organization each time, Kailyn graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in media production and theatre.
